I would really like to thank the Green Scholarship Program for giving me this scholarship. It’s very gratifying to know that I am part of a program that helps young students like me achieve their dream of obtaining a college education. It has been surreal that after so many hardships I’ve had to endure, I’m finally getting the opportunity to attend college. I will forever be indebted to the program for giving me this opportunity. My family has been struggling for a while now. We have 10 people in my house; my parents, my two brothers, my aunt, uncle and their two kids, my grandmother and me. The main source of income in my home is my parents and my uncles, although recently both my father and uncle have lost their job and it is up to my mother and aunt to support the household. This is why I’ve always wanted to go to college; so that I can be in a better position to help my brothers attend high school and are able to help with the household expenses. Being the oldest child of three makes me feel responsible for my siblings and makes me want to be a good role model for them. This scholarship has made me happy beyond words and has taken a huge weight off of my family. Also, it makes my family proud of me for being able to attend college. I promise not to let you down and I will reach all my goals. Thank you
